Welcome to Swan Creek Rowing Club!

The Swan Creek Rowing Club is named for the Swan Creek, a leading tributary flowing through Lambertville, New Jersey to the Delaware River.  Our club was founded in 1992 by individuals interested in promoting rowing in the area. Members are from diverse backgrounds and vary from novice rowers to those who have maintained a lifelong interest in rowing. Many gained their experience in college. We share a common bond in our love of the river.

Dear Rowers,

I think we are back in business - water level down. We will probably have to start the summer routine of heat and low water level issues.
Reminder: Second Thursday Pizza Meet and Greet.

Come one, come all this Thursday to Giuseppe's Pizza in Lambertville.

The Second Thursday Pizza Meet and Greet will be this coming Thursday 7/9 at Giuseppe's.  Festivities start after 6:30 or rowing.  BYOB.

See you there.

Jane

Youth Fundraising

The Youth are being very ambitious this year - fundraising to buy a new 8+. Their theme is "Keep our Kids Afloat" and they already have collected quite a bit, but still need more to purchase the boat they have their eyes on.  This boat will be an asset for the whole club and the Youth are working very hard to raise the money. They have been standing in front of Superfresh, Wa-WA and next to Wachovia for weeks with their hands out.

The concept is to ask people to donate their penny jars to our cause.  You know, that penny jar that you are never going to actually cash in. The group is expecting an article to come out in the Beacon this Thursday with pictures. They are also putting donation cans in many of the stores in Lambertville.  A flyer will be going out on Thursday.

So, if you have one of those "penny" jars hanging around the house, please consider contributing it to the Youth's goal. If you just spent all that change on parking in New Hope or Princeton, but still would like to contribute, you can send a check to (payable to SCRC Youth Program) to  P.O. Box  153, Lambertville NJ 08530.  (But remember that  donations to the club or Youth group are not tax deductible - hopefully soon).
Night Rowing

DO NOT ROW in the dark. Get off the water before dark. If you are going out in the evening and may be returning during low light conditions OR rowing in the early morning, you must have an appropriate bow light on the boat. We will have more lights available soon in the equipment shed. If there is no bow light available do not row.

Blue Flag - indicates cold water.  Novices may not row, experienced rowers row at your own risk. Singles should not go out alone.  A novice is anyone who has started rowing this year.
